DREAM 2024 Winners: A Leap Forward in Innovation!
On October 4, 2024, Lahti’s City Hall Courtyard buzzed with excitement, creativity, and groundbreaking ideas as the DREAM 2024 event unfolded. Organized by team StartHub, this event brought together some of the brightest minds in Finland’s startup ecosystem, with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and future-forward solutions.
The competition saw a diverse mix of visionary student ideas and entrepreneurial pitches, making the day unforgettable. And after an intense day of presentations and pitches, we are thrilled to announce the winners in three key categories:
STARTUP GRAND PRIZE: Materialisting
The Grand Prize of €10,000 was awarded to Materialisting, a platform service designed to revolutionize the construction and design industry. By enabling businesses to make more responsible product choices, Materialisting simplifies the processes of calculating and reporting environmental impacts. With sustainability at its core, this innovative platform is set to become a vital tool for designers, and suppliers across Finland and beyond.
STUDENT IDEA WINNER: QUISCENT
In the Student Idea category, QUISCENT claimed victory with their groundbreaking intellectual business idea. Developed by students from the University of Eastern Finland, Quiscent is an optics-based device designed for non-invasive, affordable treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). This device promises a future of uninterrupted, deep sleep for millions affected by OSA, making it a breakthrough in the medical technology field.
AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD: Betterfly
The Audience Choice Award went to Betterfly, a Finnish startup that’s changing the game in sports technology. Focused on improving the safety and performance of ice hockey goalies, Betterfly designs ergonomic goalie equipment that helps prevent knee and hip injuries, allowing athletes to play longer, healthier careers.
